Medical Insurance and rewards programs

Gap cover, Cancer cover, Primary care and Rewards

In hospital gap cover insurance has become an essential to most medical aid schemes. Your medical aid will not always cover you at cost. Many specialists now charge more than the medical aid is prepared to pay. Gap cover is there to cover the shortfall in those specialist fees when you are admitted to hospital. Certain options also cover co-payments that the medical aid may charge you for a specified list of procedures as well as certain out-of-hospital procedures.

Cancer cover

Being diagnosed with cancer is an extremely traumatic event. It entails coping with enormous stress and financial burden. Cancer patients should be able to focus on healing and not be burdened by unexpected costs. Medical aid does not necessarily cover all costs associated with the treatment and emotional strain. There is a very reasonably priced policy which pays a lump sum benefit to members who are diagnosed for the first time.

Primary Care

This product is designed for employer groups and are a very affordable solution for funding basic healthcare for those staff members who cannot afford medical aid. Various levels of cover of available and there is a minimum group size (usually around 5 members). The product covers a network of providers which are sourced close to the employees place of work (gp's, dentistry, optometry, maternity, acute and chronic medicines, HIV medication, radiology, pathology, some options also cover emergency treatment in a private hospital and accidental death). The product can cover the staff member only or the employer may opt to cover the family as well. No long queues at a government facility.

Rewards programs

These are optional and are offered by some of the medical aid companies. The aim is to encourage members to lead a healthier lifestyle. If you get involved and are engaged with the program, the rewards can be outstanding. Some programs dovetail with your life policy and credit card so rewards are enhanced. The technical details related to these programs can be quite mind boggling. We are here to help you understand them and reach your goals.
